Search engine optimisation (SEO) is one of the most cost-effective forms of online marketing.

Natural search results, also known as organic search results, differ from paid search. Natural results are ranked according to how worthwhile the search engines find their content.

A recent Forrester Research report shows that at least 81% of Internet consumers are finding products via search engines. And a recent StatMarket.com study revealed that, due to a lack of optimisation for maximum search engine visibility, only 7% of all websites are on the search engines’ respective radars. So a large number of companies attempting to sell online are missing an important trick.

Latitude’s SEO clients are not amongst them.

Getting your website in the top rankings on the search engines’ natural results can be a time-consuming and confusing exercise. Not surprising, since each of the search engines uses a different method of collecting and compiling their results pages. To add to the bewilderment, Google, Yahoo, and MSN never publish their ranking criteria.

As the examples above show, Latitude’s team of search engine specialists – the largest employed by any search agency in Europe – has an understanding of SEO that comes only from years of experience with the search engines, their methods, how those methods tend to change, and how they can be best exploited for the benefit of our clients.

But our search specialists are not just techies huddled behind closed doors, working on the dark art of SEO. As Lookers’ Internet Sales Manager Tina Ashurst says, Latitude’s people “are knowledgeable and informative whilst also being friendly and approachable”. She continues:

Latitude hasn’t failed to deliver what they promised.  To a non-technical person such as me, Latitude’s explanation of how SEO works best was both put in simple terms and very enlightening.  The company who provide our web design also learnt a lot from those initial discussions and they now take into account this aspect when building and updating websites.

And the results speak for themselves. The SEO rankings achieved by Latitude for Lookers have translated into significantly increased enquiries and sales: Enquiries YTD 01/01/05 to 29/04/05 have increased by 78%. Sales figures to end of March have increased by 52%. As Tina Ashurst puts it:

Even after normal growth, this is a fantastic achievement. We are still refining our website design and SEO content, and based on the success to date I expect these figures to improve again over the coming months.
