The Big News: Facebook Deals launches in the UK
Yesterday (Monday 31st January 2011) Facebook announced the arrival of Facebook Deals in 5 European territories; namely:
- United Kingdom
Facebook Deals was launched in the US in November 2010 and its arrival in Europe is certainly very exciting news.
What’s the deal with Facebook Deals?
As of yesterday, businesses were able to offer deals to customers checking into Places using the usual Facebook mobile app.
In order to enjoy the benefits of Facebook Deals mobile users will need to:
1. Download the latest Facebook App version
2. Click on “Places” and then click “Check-In”
3. A list of nearby places will appear and a yellow sticker will show which places are offering a deal
4. By clicking on the Place the user will be able to view details of the deal
5. Check-In and simply show your screen to enjoy the discount or receive gifts/coupons
How to set up Facebook Deals
Facebook Deals are set up using your business Facebook Place and you can choose from 4 different types of deals; namely Individual, Friend, Loyalty and Charity deals
These Deals come from the businesses themselves therefore details and upcoming offers/discounts will be periodically posted on the business personal Facebook Page.
With the arrival of Facebook Deals it will now be more important then ever to keep your business Facebook Page up-to-date so that your fans can take advantage of the deal when it becomes available.
