Is the search market really recession proof?

It seems a day doesn’t go by when we’re not hearing about the impact of the credit crunch on our economy and what it means for businesses. So it’s only natural that Search Marketers should be speculating on the longer term impacts of the current economic environment on our industry.
While some analysts have suggested that search may be recession proof, the current share prices of both Yahoo! and Google suggest otherwise.
The Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organisation (SEMPO) would like to know how the current economic climate is affecting your search activity and is inviting companies to share their thoughts in a short survey at Sempo Survey.
Why fill in the survey? Because all participants will receive a copy of the completed findings so they can see how their peers are being affected.
