The Douglas Bader Foundation relies on the generosity of organisations like Latitude to enable it to continue the amazing work with children who have lost their limbs and children with other disabilities. The foundation was founded in honour of Sir Douglas Bader in 1982 by family and friends. Douglas was honoured in 1976 with a Knighthood for his contribution and work on behalf of the disabled. The mission of the foundation at its inception and today, is to continue Douglas’s work in conjunction with and on behalf of individuals with a disability.
Latitude decided to help raise some money for the foundation by participating in a spot of aerobics followed by a cake sale, prepared by Campaign Analyst Helen Price. This served the purpose of not only getting fit but also doing something fun for a good cause. The aerobics session took place at the Village gym in Warrington, where the extraordinarily fit Julia Hughes instructed the team through a session.Organised by Office Manager Lis West, the event went through without a glitch and as a result Latitude have raised a considerable amount for the children at The Douglas Bader Foundation.
