Latitude Fuses Live Bands and Digital with ‘Bandwidth’
Latitude Digital Marketing launches Bandwidth, a first of its kind live music event with a digital twist, on the 9th of November at East London’s famous gig venue Cargo. Organised as a part of the 5-day Internet Week Europe 2011 festival in November, Latitude has partnered with sound sharing website SoundCloud, data centre provider Interxion and the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance to showcase the power of the online to build offline presence.
The event will kick off with ‘Amplified – Social and Mobile’ seminar with Flurry’s Managing Director in Europe Richard Firminger and Alex Hoye, CEO of Latitude speaking about two of the hottest topics in the digital sphere: mobile and social. The afterparty will feature three eclectic bands; the 60’s influenced Cat Black from East London, the choppy guitar group The Vacations from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and four piece Wildlife with a loud and rhythmic sound from London and Hertfordshire. The winning band will be decided solely on the increase of ‘likes’ on their Facebook pages and will receive £1000 worth of Latitude’s digital marketing products specifically designed to increase their online presence and a Premium Pro Plus account from SoundCloud.
Alex Hoye, enthused: “We are proud to bring together fresh new musical talent with the digital. The online world continues to find new playing fields, and with developments such as Facebook integrating with Spotify, it is clear that the connection between music and social media is here to stay. Bandwidth throws the concept of the traditional gig on its head by giving the audience a chance to vote and interact during the show, while showcasing the power of the online in an offline space. ”
