Latitude the biggest UK PPC agency, shows holistic strength

New Media Age, in its Marketing Services Guide, ranked Latitude as the UK’s biggest PPC agency in the UK, with fees from Pay Per Click totalling £8.1M in 2008. NMA’s MSG, an industry benchmark of the UK’s largest digital marketing agencies, is a ubiquitous reference for digital marketers.

We were also pleased to to rank as the 3rd largest SEO agency in the UK. This achievement is a sign of Latitude’s ability to innovate in the digital marketing industry where clients and staff must consider activities across channels in each marketing decision.

These rankings are in the context of the company’s record turnover of £58.5M – growth of 44% in a year that saw industry growth at less than half that rate – and an overall number two ranking in search (the first and third rankings are the result of some simple math from the submissions).

The announcement dovetails well with three initiatives where we are proud to be investing:

Cross channel digital marketing - Led by performance-focused direct response, our display revenues have actually grown faster than search in a declining market - we now spend several million in this market; We believe that Latitude can best work with digital marketers and other specialist agencies if we understand the user journey throughout the decision-making process across search, display, affiliate, social and even traditional marketing

PPC: Still Sexy After All These Years - While PPC has started to be viewed as ‘boring’ by some, we are continuously pushing the envelope by applying our specialist team to the best technology on the market – we declare ourselves ‘Technology Aggressive’, which means we aren’t agnostic, we try all of the best software available and use at least two of the very best

It’s About Conversion - In addition to driving traffic, we’ve established a seven-person team to ensure that our clients are implementing multivariate testing to close and specialist analytics to help apply budgets to the right channels through conversion attribution

I have a firm belief that the economy has a way to go before it fully recovers. However, I am confident that agencies that are transforming ahead of the curve will continue to help their clients get the most out of digital marketing and those clients will grow disproportionately to the industry.

And, admittedly, I enjoy the rush of industry transformation and the creative destruction that comes with it. Join us in the revolution!
