Lycos to launch online TV service

Lycos has announced the launch of Lycos TV, offering its users a variety of free online video content.

The service and content is being provided by video system specialist Roo, and will deliver current videos, along with archive news, music, films, and sports content.

The TV portal will also provide Lycos with a complete library of Roo’s video content, which will be updated on a regular basis.

Original video content will become a feature to the site in the next few months, according to a statement by Jeffrey Lee, managing director of Lycos UK, with user-generated content expected to play a key part in the service.
