For the past 6 years I’ve spoken at great London search events, such as SES and SMX, along with other great contributors from the world of search engine marketing. I actually spoke at the first UK SMX event in 2007. However, in that time there has been an amazing rate of growth is the search community in the North of England, so why do we need to head to London to hear the best speakers, when we can run an event on our own doorstep?
This was one of the driving forces behind the organisers of SAScon at the end of 2009. The idea converged perfectly with the start of the SEMPO European Roadshow that will see similar events take place in Spain, France, Scandinavia and Central Europe.
With a month to go, I’m proud to see an impressive conference with a great line-up of speakers from all over Europe covering the vital topics in Search, Analytics and Social Media. …and it’s based in Manchester!
Aside from the controversial Black Hat/White Hat panel, and the corporate view on social media, I’m personally looking forward to moderating the “Holistic Search” panel. With two PPC and two SEO speakers we’ll be debating what a truly “blended” search strategy should look like and what PPC and SEO can learn from each other.
As a result of everyone’s commitment and hard work, I believe SAScon will become one of the key highlights of the digital calendar for years to come and I look forward to bragging about attending the inaugural event.
See you there!
