Latitude Digital Marketing is proud to announce The Vacations as the winners of Bandwidth – a first of its kind band event fusing music with the digital. The event, organised as part of Internet Week Europe and in partnership with data centre provider Interxion and sound sharing website SoundCloud on the 9th of November at Cargo in East London, explored the power of the online in an offline space by giving the audience a chance to vote for their favourite band through their mobiles.
Bandwidth kicked off with Ross Adams, Spotify’s European Sales Director, speaking about Spotify’s partnership with Facebook. Richard Firminger, the European Managing Director for mobile application analytics company Flurry, then took to the stage to discuss the future of mobile applications, focusing especially on user groups and profiles. The night culminated in two bands, East London five-piece Cat Black and The Vacations from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, competing for the chance to win a Premium Pro Plus account from SoundCloud and £1000 worth of digital marketing products from Latitude specifically designed to increase their online presence. The Vacations were crowned the winners with a huge 40% increase in Facebook likes.
“Bandwidth was a great experiment in bringing together the digital with fresh new musical talent”, said Alex Hoye, CEO of Latitude. “It is clear through developments such as Facebook integrating with Spotify that the connection between music and social media is here to stay. There has been a significant change in how people engage with social media as we progress from merely connecting to sharing and, more recently, recommending not only music but also experiences, products and services through social media platforms. We at Latitude are staying ahead of the social commerce curve through our integrated approach to digital marketing.”
