Is online retail green or just greener?
Which is greener: shopping online or visiting the supermarket? Or is the answer neither? And just how popular is online retail in the UK? A new article from Latitude’s Director of Search Insight, Jon Myers, addresses these questions and more.
It’s not as straightforward as you first think. The contents of the “average” shopping trolley has travelled some 100,000 miles. Delivery vans have an emission of 360 g/km and travel on average 4 km per trip. But surely must still be greener then “offline” shopping that accounts for some 66 million individual journeys of on average 11.52kms
Find out just how green online retail is and - with Tesco and Sainsbury’s investing in electric vans - how green will it be.
