Latitude winning at Deloitte, taking on Darling on Radio 4…and don’t forget Rooney
Shameless plug blog time but it’s good times at Latitude and there’s a few nuggets of interest to you here - honest. Last night I picked up for Latitude an award for the Top 50 Stellar performers in EMEA as recognised by Deloitte. This morning the Today programme on Radio 4 featured Dylan, our CEO, being interviewed on Chancellor Darling’s upcoming CBI speech. And we just had an in-depth piece on blended search in Marketing Week focusing on Wayne Rooney no less!
The Deloitte awards were at the Landmark Hotel by Regents Park (if you’ve not been there, you must, it has an amazing Winter Garden that gives a much needed tropical feel on a bitter winter night). It was fascinating to mix with other businesses who have experienced stunning growth over the last five years within the Technology Fast 500 EMEA and an honour to get into the top 50. Dylan, still pretty fresh from advising no. 11 Downing Street, was interviewed by the Today programme this morning. He criticised the proposed Capital Gains Tax changes with some interesting insights into entrepreneurial motivation in the UK. To catch the podcast – click here. The story starts 15 minutes into the 6 am piece.
Finally, in an article for Marketing Week I looked at how blended or universal search is panning out. Household names including Rooney and McDonalds are not really working in this environment yet. It seems that we’ve still got a little way to go for marketers to really embrace what has been called the most radical change to search results to date.

Rooney, Darling, Stellar awards - never a dull moment at Latitude.
