Google Dance 2006

By Jackie Danicki - Blogger  in Events |Search Engines |Google

Last night was the famed Google Dance party at the Googleplex in Mountain View. The theme for this year’s event was Google Labs, and attendees were encouraged to wear lab coats to keep in the spirit of the party. All I can say is that I felt sort of sorry for the one guy I saw wearing a lab coat; everyone else was dressed casually.

In keeping with the theme, there was a product lab where you could play with all of Google’s (currently publicly divulged) products, plus ‘Bunsen’ burgers and ‘Pavlov’s’ corndogs on the menu. The ice cream lab featured beakers full of hot fudge sauce, hundreds and thousands, and many other toppings.

But the big hit of the night, apart from the ”Make your own Billy Ray Cyrus video” booth, had to be the Dunk the Google Guy booth. Hmm, now why would that be so popular? Following on Andrew Redfern’s post here, I suspect that the long line of people waiting to dunk the Google guy included quite a few third party click fraud auditors…
