Merry Christmas e-cards and can you see the Queen’s iPod on OneTube?

By Matt Brocklehurst, Head of Marketing  in Marketing

Final blog for 2007 from me and it’s just a quick one to wish all the Latitude blog readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Check out our e-card for you – click here.

Since creating this e-card I’ve taken a rather perverse interest in the e-cards I’ve received, paying far more attention to them then normal (and is healthy) and saving them.  It’s a strange hobby but there is some odd ideas about what works for a brand at Christmas time. I must nominate the one I received from JAL as my particular favourite.  In my previous job I travelled frequently to Tokyo and gained air miles on JAL and as such was privileged to receive this gem.  You’ve got an airline and you’ve got a Christmas tree.  Let’s see what can you put on it?  Take a guess then click here to see if you’re right.

The one bit of news I’ll finish with is who would have thought that the Queen would be embracing YouTube?

Or as The Guardian suggest perhaps this should be “OneTube” As Mel points out in his blog on Brand Republic, next has got to be Twitter or Facebook…”The Queen is walking the Corgis”.  Love it.  I read that since 2005 she’s also had an iPod!  When does she wear it and what podcasts does she listen to? And more importantly does one wear it over or under the crown?  Let’s check out that speech she if I can see it…
