UK online ad market continues to grow and outpace US

By Jackie Danicki - Blogger  in Marketing |News |PPC

New Media Age reports:

[T]he UK will spend £2.64bn on online advertising this year, a rise of £62m from 2006. The figure is expected to soar to almost £4.5bn by 2011, partly due to advances in broadband, mobile internet access and technology. The report follows data from IAB Europe, which announced that online ad spend cross 13 European countries totalled £5.4bn.

This level of investment in online marketing - with paid search being singled out for its measureable ROI - far exceeds that in the United States and other parts of Europe.

Online’s slice of the UK’s total ad spend pie is forecast to hit 18% in 2007, more than double the percentage in the US or in any country in continental Europe.
