Yahoo shares up on Microsoft talk
By Jon Myers, Director Of Search in Search Engines |Yahoo |Microsoft
Not a week seems to go by at the minute without me publishing something to do with Microsoft being interested in buying someone. But even this one made me read it twice from the BBC on Friday.
Shares in Yahoo have risen by as much as 14% upon media reports suggesting the internet firm had been approached by Microsoft about a potential tie-up.
US reports suggested Microsoft was keen to pair up with Yahoo in a deal which could be worth up to $50bn (£25bn).
Well the share prices have gone up but as the BBC says there has been a lot of talk over the years about this one. But is the time right now to do this and put a joint front up in a Google dominant market?
